THE KNOXVILLE GARDEN CLUB
Member of The Garden Club of America
"The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul."
Since 1923, The Knoxville Garden Club has aspired to advance and cultivate the love and beautification of our community through gardening, conservation of native plants and trees, education, philanthropic grants, and setting a precedent of civic responsibility. We believe that a single action can make a difference, and that collective action can greatly impact the world.
Sharing The Garden Club of America's mission to, "to promote greater understanding of the interdependence of horticulture, environmental protection, and community improvement," Knoxville Garden Club members strive to contribute to the enrichment and preservation of our surroundings through advocacy and outreach activities on both a local and national level.
Talahi Plant Sale
Cancelled for 2020 Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic
Held annually since 1964, the Talahi Plant Sale remains KGC's largest fundraising project. The sale is held at Lakeshore Park and boasts a vibrant assortment of native plants dug straight from members' gardens, herbs, trees and shrubs, annuals, homemade baked goods, local artists and vendors, and the always popular Green Elephant.
At the heart of The Knoxville Garden Club is our dedication to civic responsibility and support of our local community. The very foundation and motivation of the women in our club is to sustain and facilitate the continued beautification of the greater Knoxville area. Through continued volunteer efforts, monetary gifts, and scholarship funds, KGC strives to uphold the longstanding tradition of philanthropy that began in 1923.
